MATCH REPORT | NORTHANTS V HAMPSHIRE DAY 2

Northamptonshire wrapped up this year's pre-season tour to Barbados with a useful workout against Hampshire at Windward CC on Tuesday.

Following Monday's rain, Hampshire batted until tea to reach 305-4 in 70 overs.  Sean Ervine led the way with an unbeaten 101, backed up by Will Smith (81) and Michael Carberry (68).

Northamptonshire used nine bowlers - Rob Keogh (3-50) and Muhammad Azharullah (1-30) sharing the wickets.

The County then had 24 overs to bat and closed on 50 for two.  Josh Cobb and Steven Crook went cheaply but Keogh and David Murphy - unbeaten on 25 and 6 respectively - played out time.

Northamptonshire's squad will fly back from the Caribbean ahead of next week's planned two-day friendly against Warwickshire at Edgbaston (March 28 and 29) and the season-opener at Wantage Road against Loughborough MCCU (April 2, 3 and 4).
