Rossington ruled out with finger fracture.

Northants wicketkeeper-batsman Adam Rossington has been ruled out for the next three weeks after sustaining a fracture of his left hand. The incident occurred on Day three of the Specsavers County Championship Division Two win at Durham last weekend.

He was examined by a specialist on Tuesday night who confirmed he has suffered an Avulsion fracture to his left hand.

Rossington has scored 232 runs in five Championship matches this season, though is now likely to be out until the start of the T20 campaign, which begins on July 7.

“It’s obviously disappointing, but it’s just one of those things. Hopefully with a bit of time to rest it I’ll be back and fit by the end of the month.

Northants Head Coach, David Ripley said, "It doesn't look promising and it looks like he might be out for a few weeks so that's a problem for us."

"I do expect him to be back for the T20, but he might well miss the Championship cricket.”

With David Murphy injured, Northants batsman Ben Duckett will step in as Keeper for the clash against Derbyshire on Friday.

Northants have three more Championship matches before the block of T20 matches begin.

"We'll be exploring some options of potentially bringing in someone else in if Adam is out for that period of time," Ripley said.

The four-day fixture against Derbyshire starts on Friday, and Northamptonshire will look to build on the strong team performance put on in Durham to keep them in contention for a return to Division One.
