THE CLUB ANNOUNCE ITS CHOSEN CHARITY FOR 2017

Here at Northamptonshire County Cricket Club, we pride ourselves on being a club at the heart of the community. We work closely with a number of charities throughout the year to raise as much money as possible so that they are able to carry out their vital work that helps so many of us in the local community.

We are delighted to be working with The Nigel Wagstaff Charity for the 2017 season. Founded in 2016, The Nigel Wagstaff charity supports local fundraising projects within the community. This year, the charity has chosen to focus on supporting the Gosset Ward at Northampton General Hospital. They will be raising money to buy a Giraffe (Omnibed) Incubator to replace the existing, less advanced, models that are currently at the hospital.

The Giraffe incubator has several additional features to benefit the babies without the need for further equipment. By having an incubator which can be multifunctional with built in phototherapy lamps, examination lamps, humidification and temperature control it reduces the need for other equipment around the baby, making it easier for the parent to be closer to their little one. The Giraffe Incubator also gives a consistent flow of warm air within the incubator which allows the roof to lift off without the temperature of the baby being disturbed, further enabling parents to be closer to their baby.

They are hoping to raise £37,000 so we will be looking forward helping them reach this target with various events held at The County Ground over the next year.

The first of these events is The Big Red Gig, taking place on Friday 10th February at The County Ground. Tickets are £15 per person, or £35 for VIP tickets and can be purchased here
