David Murphy extends his contract with Northamptonshire County Cricket Club

David Murphy has extended his contract with Northamptonshire County Cricket Club for a further year. The wicketkeeper has had a very respectable season, taking  33 catches in 11 county championships matches this season and has chipped in with some runs down the order – 335 to be exact.

David is yet another product of the Academy and a long standing servant of the club, he formed part of both the 2013 and 2016 winning T20 side and is extremely well liked by his peers.

On putting pen to paper, David said, “I am very pleased to be continuing my career at Northamptonshire, I have played here since I was 16 and the place means a lot to me. The club has enjoyed some incredible success over the last few years  and I’m very glad to be a part of it.”

Head Coach, David Ripley, commented “I am delighted to have ‘Mr Reliable’ back on board for another season. Murph is very popular with everybody at the club, players, staff and supporters and is a top professional.”
