A FAN'S EYE VIEW

Last Friday night at the County Ground is what T20 cricket is all about. Hot weather, drinks in full flow and most importantly, some big hits as Northants chased Derbyshire’s target of 195 to make it two in two!

The moment you set foot inside the home of the Steelbacks the atmosphere and excitement of some entertaining cricket grips you.

Encouragement to get in the party mood greets you from the off with free Steelbacks hats, inflatable cricket bats and banners offered out to everyone.

The atmosphere steadily cranks up as game time nears, with team news, player warm-ups, music and competitions the order of the day.

T20 matches at the County Ground offers something for everyone. Youngsters can position themselves in the firing line on the boundary, whilst groups conveniently position themselves closest to the beer and food tents.

As each ball smashes into the advertising boards or sails into the expectant crowd, it sets off a party in the stands where supporters let their hair down dancing with the music in celebration.

With the Steelbacks hosting Worcestershire tomorrow evening looking to continue their perfect start in school holiday week, and the chance to see England’s Moeen Ali in action, a healthy crowd is expected.
