500th player to represent Northamptonshire County Cricket Club


Today marks a momentous day in the history of Northamptonshire County Cricket Club as Sean Terry becomes the 500th player to represent the club in First Class Cricket since 1905.

Sean Terry, the son of long-serving Hampshire and two-Test England batsman Paul Terry, made his Championship debut for his father's old county in April 2012.

Prior to that Terry represented MCC Young Cricketers in the 2011 Second XI Championship, scoring 313 runs in nine matches as an opener. He returned to Hampshire's Championship side in September 2013 and impressed with two half-centuries. Born in Southampton but raised in Perth, he played junior state cricket and for Melville CC. He is registered and now available for Northamptonshire although not under contract.

The rest of the squad for today's Specsavers County Championship match against Sussex are Newton, Duckett, Wakely (c), Keogh, Rossington, Terry, Murphy (wkt), White, Gleeson, Azharullah, Sanderson and Adair.
