Top of the Table and Ahead of the Game

With the continuing success of the Steelbacks who are currently enjoying a comfortable position at the top of the NatWest T20 Blast North Group table, Northamptonshire County Cricket Club have good reasons to face the second half of the season with confidence.

All hospitality packages for the remaining Blast matches are now sold out; not a surprise considering every box has been full and every table taken in the hospitality suite for all of the matches so far in 2016. To accommodate those looking for more at the coming match versus the Notts Outlaws this Friday, the hospitality team are organising a BBQ in the Old Speckled Hen Lounge in conjunction with Franks. Check out our website for more details.

2016 has been a good year for the club so far; the number of sponsors and commercial partners working with NCCC has increased by 226% with the main club sponsor Greene King increasing the value of their sponsorship deal by 22%. There has been a 15% increase in revenue from home NatWest T20 Blast matches compared to 2015 and there are still three home matches to come as well as the possibility of a home quarter final fixture.

Despite a couple of injury setbacks, Head Coach David Ripley has much to be pleased about with his squad. Ben Duckett and Adam Rossington have put in strong performances with the bat and there have been outstanding bowling performances from Graeme White, Azharullah and the newly signed Richard Gleeson. Monty Panesar has also made a much anticipated comeback and fans will be looking forward to seeing more of him during the summer months.

Ray Payne, Chief Executive, said "I am delighted with the progress made so far this year. We are on track with the club's strategy and business targets. I would like to thank the people of Northamptonshire for supporting their cricket club. Without a doubt, the fans contribute massively to the electric atmosphere at a Blast match and the noise they make certainly spurs our players on. We are all planning and hoping for more Steelbacks success so that the fans' dedication can be rewarded with some silverware."

There are a busy few weeks ahead for the club; in addition to the next Blast fixture on Friday, Schools Day is coming up with an anticipated 850 local school children taking part and then Community Day on Sunday July 24th - a Royal London One Day Match against Durham with free entry to all.
