Graeme White signs a new contract

Graeme White has signed a two-year deal with Northamptonshire County Cricket Club .

The left-arm spinner has made a huge impact in the 2016 season and has been rewarded with a new two year deal starting next year. He registered career best List A figures of 6-37 in the Royal London One Day Cup victory against Lancashire, the sixth-best return by a Steelbacks bowler in List A cricket. He has also made an impact in the 2016 NatWest T20 Blast competition, most notably taking his first career hat-rick in a thumping win over the Birmingham Bears.

Graeme joined Northamptonshire's Academy in 2001 aged 14 and made the step-up to first-class cricket with the county five years later but then switched his allegiance to Nottinghamshire in 2010.

Graeme returned to the Steelbacks on loan in 2013 and made an impact straight away, taking a superb 4-14 return against Gloucestershire in the Twenty20. With David Ripley impressed, Graeme was offered a permanent deal until the end of the 2016 season, continuing to contribute in white ball cricket.

After a strong winter away in Australia, Graeme has developed his cricketing skills hoping to help Northamptonshire to success in all three formats.

David Ripley, Head Coach, said “ Graeme has had a strong white ball season, continuing to improve in all of areas of the game. He had a good winter away in Australia and has continued that form into the 2016 season. We are delighted that Graeme has agreed to stay for the next two years.”

Commenting on his new contract, Graeme said, “I’m delighted to have signed a new two year contract at Northamptonshire. We are building a strong squad in all forms of the game and striving for success in the future  .”
