A 27-year-old fast bowler with plenty of pace, Hexham-born Gareth attracted Northamptonshire’s interest whilst playing in the Minor Counties competition for Northumberland in 2016. He has also represented the Unicorns and trialled at Worcestershire in 2015. He made his first-class debut for the County against Loughborough MCCU last April but sadly missed a large chunk of the season through injury. At the back end of the season he offered a glimpse of his potential with several match-winning performances for Old Northamptonians to help them retain the Northamptonshire League’s Premier Division title. He also won NCCC’s community involvement award for his efforts in ‘spreading the word’ during 2017.
