Help for Heroes Game Big Success

Last Friday the County Ground hosted a Help for Heroes T20 match between the Northants Disability team and a Help for Heroes XI.

The Northants Disability side won the toss and elected to bat first. The Help for Heroes XI made an early breakthrough when Northants skipper Graham Norris was caught off Zawaisa for 8.

Following the first wicket, Northants went on the attack as Olly Newton and Barton put together a 182 run partnership together, with Barton finally being dismissed for 132, as Northants finished on a big score of 225/3.

In reply the Help for Heroes XI made a very strong start, as the openers put on 74 for the first wicket, with both Wilkes and Harman scored half centuries, the latter scoring an unbeaten 81. Alas it was not enough, despite the braze efforts of the Help for Heroes batsmen, they could only finish on 203/5, losing by 25 runs.

The game was once again a huge success raising £510 for Help for Heroes, as Northants Cricket continue to support charities and disability cricket.
