Financial Results Announced

Northamptonshire County Cricket Club announce their results for the financial year ending 30th September 2019.

The club continues to promote its improved stadium facilities to develop a significant non-match day revenue stream, which continues to support its cricket operations. Attendances in all formats of the game increased in 2019 and the club enjoyed two record crowds within its T20 Blast Competition.

The Club secured promotion to Division 1 in the County Championship, with five wins in the last seven matches of the campaign. The club continues to attract international players to feature in all formats of the during 2019 the Northamptonshire squad included; Temba Bavuma, Faheem Ashraf and the West Indies Captain Jason Holder.

EBITDA (earnings before interest, depreciation and amortisation) was a profit of £464,463 compared to a profit of £287,212 in 2018, which was in line with budgeted expectation for the year, following increased distributions from the ECB, increased sponsorship at the ground and continuing growth of non-cricket related incomes.

The Northamptonshire County Cricket Club remains financially sound and will be repaying its final element of the Council loan and be debt free during 2020 completing the planned business cycle within the old funding formula for the game.

Commenting on the performance, Chief Executive Ray Payne said “2019 turned out to be a good year for the Cricket Club both on and off the field of play. The ground continues to grow in reputation as a venue in Northampton and the clubs cricketing partnerships strengthen with our ever-increasing links with our surrounding National Counties if Bedfordshire, Huntingdonshire and Buckinghamshire”.

Chairman Gavin Warren stated “The Board of Directors are delighted with the continued progress of the Club, and are optimistic for the forthcoming 2020 season and playing in Division one, the squad has been strengthened to compete in that division and we are delighted to have strengthened our coaching team ahead of the season. As we enter a phase where the game of cricket has secured greater funding in the next cycle the club has robust plans to be ever more relevant and extend our reach both geographically and in our community.
